[It's been a long day, exhausting in its own way, but it's a good kind of exhaustion that Steve hasn't had nearly enough of in his life. He's a married man now, just the three of them venturing to an island that means more to Steve now than ever. He's embracing a life that he never thought he could have, but the drabwurld ultimately gives as much to Steve as it takes, just one of the reasons he's determined to defend it.

They didn't rush right back. This isn't a traditional arrangement, but Steve's still a little bit of a romantic. He wanted to take a long walk with them once it was official, enjoy the view from the flying island, dance together (he still think he's terrible at it.) But they're finally back at the chateau, and Steve picks Ariadne up and looks half-tempted to throw Bucky over his shoulder too. He could do it. But he just takes his hand instead.

Some would say that he waited too long, but it wasn't because of any naivety. He knows what happens on a wedding night. Hell, thanks to the Howling Commandos, Steve's heard his share of stories about things that happen on any given night. Their situation is...well it's a little bit different, but he trusts them, he loves them, so how could this be anything but perfect.

The room is dark when he slides into bed with them, his skin still damp from a quick dip in the tub. The whole time he just wanted to get back to them, and now he's here, wearing nothing but the ring on his finger and Bucky's tags around his neck.]
