Considerin' what happened not too long ago, I think it's safe to say we can't extend our hands too freely. I'm sure plenty of folks on that side would love a game to enjoy, but it'll be a bit tough to tell the soldiers here that it's alright, won't it?

[Steve holds back the sigh, but there's an unhappy little twitch of his mouth that Lancer can't see.]

I can look for the equipment, assembling some players as I go.

At your own pace. I might not be around for a bit towards the end of the month.

Tell my soldiers what you've got available and they'll put it in storage for when Spring rolls around. And--by then, we ought to have a field and folks eager to give it a shot.

See, that's why Spring's always been my favorite season. And now I get to play instead of just watching.

I heard baseball was this big, professional game with big stadiums! I dunno if we could make something as illustrious as one of those things, but a nice crowd would definitely be fun.

Yeah, it's a pretty big deal. Always was, but now everything's so shiny and three times the price. A crowd would be good, though.

Price? Oh, do they host markets at games?

[Lancer would scream and complain if he were told to pay ten dollars for beer in a plastic cup at a stadium.]

Yeah. You buy your ticket, then they try to sell you everything from hats to hot dogs. It's a little crazy.

Well, I'm not really concerned about money so much as folks havin' fun. So, how big do you wager this field's gotta be?

The bases are set up in a diamond shape. Normally they're about 90 feet apart, but since this is for fun with a lot of new players, it should probably be shorter.

And then a couple of hundred feet for the outfield, tops.

Oh, that isn't major! I could definitely call that much space.

Is it a couple hundred all around?

I think that'd give us plenty of room.

Could you do me a favor and sketch that stuff out? I remember the basics, but the dimensions are totally lost on me.

Equipment and stuff too!
