I just spoke to another Tony Stark. Not ours. Not theirs. A third one from a third world like ours. It seems to be different in a significant way, however.

Did you know that their version of Steve Rogers, Captain America, now also goes by the title President of the United States? :) :) :)

Another Tony? Well it's good to know that someone's keeping every universe on its toes.

[the same could probably be said for him. he wouldn't deny it. but it seems there's an even bigger surprise in store for him.]

He seems to admire his version of Steve quite a bit. Wants to be his Steve's Vice-President.

Of all the things I've heard, that might just win for the most surprising.

That's good though. I bet they'd be a good team.

Did he happen to mention who was the vice-president?

That was my thought. And yes, they might. He seems to really admire the Steve of his world...

Though it does seem as if things aren't in good shape in his version of America. He mentioned something about there being splinter states, and that the president before his Steve was...a Secretary of Energy or something? Something happened and much of the ruling government is dead, from what I gathered.

That sounds terrifying.

[and a little heartbreaking. steve isn't blindly loyal to his country, especially not where the government is concerned, but he knows that good people are always the ones who suffer when things go south.]

Sometimes I think we're the lucky ones.

In some ways, I agree. In others, perhaps not.

It's easier here for a little while, at least.

Still, should we start grooming you for public office, Steve? You could join the government here if you really wanted I'm sure :) :)

And no thanks. I'd rather be out in the field than in an office or on a television screen.

Our troubles are nothing compared to what they've dealt with, I think. On that score yes, we're lucky. But on a personal note, things were not looking good for many of us before we arrived here. I don't doubt that whatever happens to me once I return will be unpleasant. For breaking the Sokovia Accords.

I can't picture you as a politician, for what it's worth. But speaking of which, how are you enjoying your work here?
